Ruuhikoski Golf Course is a stunning course that invites players of all skill levels to enjoy a wonderful golfing experience. Recognized by Golf Digest as one of the top hundred golf clubs in the Nordic countries, Ruuhikoski Golf features a design by the internationally acclaimed Robert Trent Jones Jr.
This exceptional course offers a blend of elegant Nordic river landscape and challenging play. With its elevation changes and thoughtful design, the course prioritizes precision over distance. Whether you’re a seasoned player or new to the game, Ruuhikoski Golf promises a memorable round in a picturesque setting.
Competitors will arrive at the Ruuhikoski Golf Club by chartered bus from Kuortane Athletes’ Village. There is a dedicated drop off/pick spot in front of the clubhouse where all athletes can be conveniently arrive and depart from Ruuhikoski Golf.

Clubhouse
Our clubhouse includes restaurant/cafeteria, Pro shop, Dressing rooms with designated lockers for each team, 2 saunas and several restrooms.
Practice Areas
Our practice areas feature a driving range, chipping green, sand trap and 2 putting greens. In addition there is a 3-hole par 3 practice course next to the 2nd putting green.
Scoring area
The score recording area is located between the 18th green and the clubhouse.
The player’s card is deemed officially returned when the player has left the recording area.
Bag storage
Bag storage is available for storing bags overnight on location. Bag storage is located next to the clubhouse, between the medical center and scoring area.
Competition office
The competition office is located in the building next to the practice green, towards the direction of the 1st tee.
Restaurant and Cafeteria
The restaurant is located in the clubhouse. A lunch buffet for all team members is available all day at our restaurant.
Other drinks and snacks can be purchased for an additional price. The restaurant serves all customers from 6:45 – 18:00. (6:45 a.m – 6:00 p.m.)
Medical Station
The first-aid station is staffed by medical professionals. This station is located next to the Clubhouse, near the scoring area.
Complimentary Wi-Fi & Cell Phone Charging Station
Complimentary Wi-Fi is available in the vicinity of the clubhouse.
A cell phone charging station is located inside the clubhouse.

Weather and Climate
Daily high temperatures in August are typically from 16°C to 21°C
Daily low temperatures are typically from 6°C to 10°C
Please observe the video screens for the Weather Warning signs which will appear when inclement weather is approaching the course.
Local Rules
Unless otherwise noted, the penalty for playing a ball from a wrong place in breach of a local rule is a general penalty (two strokes) under the applicable rule.
1. Dropping Zone for Penalty Area on hole 12
If the ball is in the penalty area on hole 12, there is a dropping zone, which is an additional option for relief under the penalty of one stroke. The dropping zone is a relief area. A ball must be dropped in and come to rest in the relief area.
2. Abnormal Course Conditions (including lmmovable Obstructions) (Rule 16)
2a) Ground Under Repair
(1) Any area bounded by a white or blue line or blue stakes.
(2) Any area of damaged ground that is considered by a referee to be abnormal (e.g. caused by vehicle movement or heavy rain/irrigation).
(3) French drains (stone-filled drainage ditches).
(4) Anthills.
(5) Painted yardage markings on the putting green or in a part of the general area cut to fairway height or less. lnterference does not exist if painted markings only interfere with the player's stance.
2b) lmmovable Obstructions
(1) White lined areas and the immovable obstruction they tie into are treated as a single abnormal course condition.
(2) Roads or paths surfaced with gravel or sand.
3. lmmovable Obstructions Close to Putting Greens
Model Local Rule F-5.2 is in effect. This Local Rule only applies when the ball and immovable obstruction lie in part of the general area cut to fairway height or less. ln addition to Rule 16.1a, interference also exists if an immovable obstruction is on the player's line of play, is within two club-lengths of the putting green and is within two club-lengths of the ball.
Exception: There is no relief under this Local Rule if the player chooses a line of play that is clearly unreasonable.
